our story
We don’t just make chocolate. We’re rewriting the rules.
One bar at a time, we’re setting a new standard for how chocolate should be made:
ethically, boldly, and with uncompromising quality.
Discover our Origins

Sailshipped by Tres Hombres
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a well-known supplier of trinitario cocoa. Our partner Conacado is a cooperative that represents 10,000 small-scale cocoa farmers and has initiated the shift to well-fermented organic and Fairtrade cocoa for customers with high quality standards.

Supporting Awajún & Rainforest
PERU
Along the Cenepa and Rio Santiago rivers in the Amazon, the Awajún grow organic Fairtrade cocoa as part of the NorAndino cooperative. NorAndino unites 5,000 members, including 1,800 cocoa farmers across northern Peru. We also support them with a special project.

Supporting Women & Arhuaco Farms
Colombia
In Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the women-led CooAgroNevada cooperative grows rare organic Criollo cocoa alongside coffee. This provides farmers with security while protecting the rainforest. The beans have a rich, complex taste with notes of red fruit and raisin.

Silverback Gorilla
congo
The Virunga region lies at the crossroads of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The area is threatened by ongoing deforestation caused by illegal logging and encroaching small-scale agriculture.

Enabling Gola’s First Fine Cacao
Sierra Leone
In Sierra Leone, we partner with Village Hope, where trained farmers now grow the region’s first high-quality organic cocoa, creating steady incomes and new opportunities.

Biodynamic Farming
brazil
At Chocolatemakers, we work directly with Fazenda Bom Jesus, a Cabruca farm founded in 1997. Today, 15 people cultivate cocoa alongside palm, guaraná, açaí, vanilla, and other fruits.

Chocolatemakers mission
Raising the bar for chocolate and the planet.
We are more than chocolate makers—we’re explorers, pushing boundaries to create chocolate that’s uncompromising. We seek out the finest cacao, working directly with farmers to ensure every step respects the planet and the people behind each harvest.
Rooted in cacao’s ancient traditions and driven by a vision for the future, we forge lasting partnerships with people who share our no-shortcuts, no-compromises mindset. Along the way, we gather stories, knowledge, and friendships as rich as the lands we visit.
Every bar we make is a testament to craft, sustainability, and purpose—more than a treat, it’s a call to explore bold flavors, make conscious choices, and demand better chocolate.
